Dr. Peterson is a graduate of Harvard University and the Cornell Weill School of Medicine. She did her residency training at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Dr. Peterson is an expert in sports medicine. She treats many nerve and muscle pain syndromes. She sees patients with neck and back pain. She treats knee pain and is trained in the use of artificial joint fluid techniques (viscosupplementation). She is the team physician to the Sioux Falls Roller Dollz and company doctor for Balleraraena Dance in Sioux Falls. She is a consultant to Dance Gallery of Sioux Falls. She has presented nationally and internationally concerning sports medicine related topics and sports medicine injury prevention.
Dr. Peterson has extensive experience treating musculoskeletal conditions of performing artists. She has been a consultant to the Pennsylvania Ballet, Lines Ballet, Rennie Harris Pure Movement, the touring companies of Cats and the Wizard of Oz and numerous other companies.
She has treated numerous musicians for a variety of performance related issues. Members of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, Curtis Institute of Music and the Philadelphia Orchestra have sought her care. She has lectured nationally and internationally on musculoskeletal problems and limitations of performing artists.
